Adult Education Tutor

Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge of literature, history, science or math?

Our growing adult education programs are seeking dedicated individuals to tutor adults studying for the GED® or studying English as a Second Language and in need of basic skills to enter college or training.

We are looking for volunteers eager to help adult learners gain new academic skills.

Types of Tutoring

Pair Tutoring

Personal interaction with a tutor benefits the learner who may have difficulty in a subject area and allows the student to stay focused and engaged.

Small-Group Tutoring

Peer and tutor interaction in a small group setting promotes knowledge sharing and diversity of ideas.

Classroom Assistant

Classroom assistants offer extra support during class meetings, including individualized and small group instructional assistance.

Volunteer Qualifications

Previous tutoring experience is helpful, but not required. We are looking for a willingness to serve and a desire to help others achieve their goals.
