Caseworker, Adult Protective Services

Applications are being accepted for full-time positions in the Area Agency on Aging at GECAC for Caseworker positions for the Older Adult Protective Services. Protective Services Caseworkers' duties may include: taking reports for crisis intervention; providing direct services to clients who are at risk or in an emergency situation; periodically reassessing care plans; providing general counseling; and making referrals. Bachelor's degree in sociology, social work/social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or other of the behavioral sciences; and 1-2 years of aging casework experience; with crisis services or law enforcement experience preferred. Experience in investigation resolution of problems in a crisis situation for resolution. Provides advanced professional work investigating reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and/or abandonment. Develops service and care plans to manage direct services to clients who are in emergency or potential hazardous situations. Must be able to gather and analyze information on physical, psychological, and social factors contributing to client's crisis situation and identify appropriate methods for the resolution of the situation. The OAPS work is performed in accordance with established procedures and regulations. Sets priorities and organizes work which is done under a supervisor who also provides regular (weekly) technical assistance. Provides daily to weekly contact with clients requiring a higher level of expertise and supervision.

Payroll/Budget Analyst

GECAC is seeking a Payroll/Budget Analyst who is able to work under moderate supervision and perform payroll related tasks by following established financial procedures as well as federal, state and local tax laws by using moderate exercise of initiative and judgment. Responsible for the preparation and distribution of all agency payrolls as designated by the Vice President/Finance. Responsible for the processing of the agency's health insurance billing, payments to taxing authorities for employee withholdings, completion of wage verification reports as well as any other payroll related reports as assigned. This position also must be able to follow established standard financial procedures in the following areas: the budgeting process, financial management and analysis of financial data and contract compliance within the Education Workforce Self-Sufficiency Division. Prepare and maintain budgets. Development of line-item budgets and forecasting expenditures. Monitor revenue and expenditures. Prepare and code purchase requisitions, assist with travel requests and storeroom order forms. Assist with annual physical inventory of fixed assets.
